What all types of tests are done with a "CBC Automated Differential"?
I'm going through a number of ongoing tests for cancer related issues, and I am curious what all types of tests are performed with the code name of CBC Automated Differential. I know it is a fairly standard blood test, but I just don't know what all they check for with this test.

- the cells in your blood, white, red, etc.
- It measures your total white blood cell count, total red blood cell count, your blood hemoglobin, and packed cell volume (hematocrit). In addition it measures your platelets which are cell fragments used in the clotting process. The automated differential breaks down your white blood cells into 5 types: neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils. It displays these as a percentage of the total white blood cell count and in absolute numbers.
