Why do they not have blood types recorded on ones medical record at the dr. office? I need to know mine.?
I called my drs. office and they said that unless you specifically ask for the blood type test, nobody has it listed. I thought that after having 2 babies and a surgery that it would have been checked in case problems arose during the procedures. They said that is not the case. I even looked on my birth certificate....it isn't there either. There isn't even a place for it....I was very surprised by all this! When giving blood do they tell you at the site what your blood type is?

- You said it in your question, moron!!!! You must go and ask for a test. Unless you do it is NOT recorded anywhere!!!!
- they should...that's the easiest place to find out what your blood type is
- You have to ask specifically otherwise they won't tell you. I didn't want to doante any blood until I knew my blood type. Canadian Blood Services (Red Cross) came by my work one day for blood type testing and the following day would be donating. Found out I'm an O but don't know if pos or negative. Try that though
