is there a different type of blood test to check pregnancy?
do routine blood tests at the hospital automatically check a woman's Hcg level for pregnancy? or do you have to request a special blood pregnancy test if you want to find out if you are pregnant or not?
Public Comments
- They have to specifically check for hcg.
- Pregnancy tests are not done routinely. The test needs to be ordered.
- routine blood tests do not look for pregnany. thats why they ask you "is there a chance of pregnancy" then they will test if there is. you need to request it if you wanna know
- No, you have to tell them to check for it. They will ask you what you are coming in for today and you say a pregnancy test.
- You have to request the pregnancy blood test. It is not routine to check for the hormone levels. Every blood test screens for different things.
