- because a nurse is not allowed to do blood pregnancy test. only a Lab scientist and run the test. the nurse may draw the blood as well as a medical assistant.
- i didn't know that(i live in UK too) i'm assuming that because urine tests are so acurate, that it saves time and money by doing urine tests.after all it must save the NHS millions by women confirming pregnancies with HPT's!.
- Actually, it's because a doctor has to order the blood draw. You can ask a nurse until you are blue in the face, but without a lab order signed by a doctor, you won't get a blood draw.
- I'm in the U.S. & I was surprised they didn't test for that on me either with my second. With my first they did test my hormone level because there was a question on how far along I was.
