Blood Drug Testing

is rare occurence of chest pains just normal?

i am 23 years old and was referred by my doctor to undergo echocardiogram next week. All my other lab tests including blood chemistry had normal results. So maybe the echocardiogram result will be normal, too. I really don't want to undergo that lab test.

  1. I would do it. just to rule out anything serious. if you don't go & you end up in the hospital with a triple bypass, you will wish you went. not to scare you, but chest pains aren't anything to play around with. it could be as simple as stress & anxiety, or it could be something else. think positively, but do go to the test. good luck!
  2. go for echocardiogram Even though MOST of the results are normal that doesn't mean ALL results are NORMAL Every test has different techniques, system/ things like that.. they are never be the same... Chest pains, of course, not normal. That's an abnormality in your body system.. It's the same with cuts, bruises etc.. that cause pain.. being 23 is not a matter for being a heart attack or stroke victim... Also the age may or may not add the causes of heart burn.. If you don't want to think that you're going to die on a stroke then heart burn could be fatal. Be 100% sure of yourself Be 100% sure of your health Undergo to every test needed to detect the cause of that pain.. Ok?
  3. hey, get it done. when you know you have nothing, you can give yourself a pat and live normally again.
  4. a lot depends on the circumstances surrounding your chest pain. Are you overweight, was it during physical activity or rest, what kind of pain was it (burning, crushing, sharp?). how long does it last and did it go away. Does it increase with physical exertion or not? There are MANY non-cardiac causes of chest pain. acid reflux, anxiety, stress are a few. However, the best way to be sure is to get the echo cardiogram. The chemistry tests were to detect enzymes associated with a heart attack. They check them 2-3 times at different intervals during the time you are there. If the labs are negative it most likely means you DID NOT have a heart attack, thankfully. The other test could be to rule out a mitral valve prolapses with is sometimes associated with chest pain. Do you exercise? What is your resting pulse rate and blood pressure? How often do these episodes occur? I have experienced the same but i have gone through labs, echo, stress, xray and 10 day heart monitor just to be sure and all the docs say my heart is fine. So it is possible to get a twing of pain and it not be serious but it is ALWAYS best to let the doctors tell you that. I hope that brought you some comfort and guidance. feel free to email me for more info or to talk some more...
