can i have heart disease?
last february, i encountered acid reflux as what my doctors told me. i felt sudden shortness of breathe then afterwards it was a whole day of burping. i have my blood chemistry and results showed that i have a high trygylcerides 300 and cholesterol 209. i also underwent ultrasound and results showed that i have fatty liver and tiny polyps in my gallbladder. my doctor advised me to take a cholesterol reducer and sylimarin to aid my liver. i started doing exercises after that and eat healthy foods like fish, fruits and vegetables and also oats. after one month, i have another blood test and results were all ok (cholesterol is 109 and tryglyceride is 120) but my SGPT is still high 46 but it is much more pretty compared to my last test which was 64. i started running every morning with mix brisk walking and sometimes basketball afterwork. i feel better and light after i engaged in such activities, now my question is can i still develop heart disease with these activities?

- Anyone at any age can develop heart disease, there's no limit to age group or gender. Look at your family history first, then your diet, your working conditions, your exercises and your outlook on life itself. You sound like your in pretty good shape now. Good luck
- I did, and you can too. Sounds like you have started the defensive battle of fighting back against heart disease. Family history is important and unfortunately can not be changed. Keep up the good work.
- Yes. Unfortunately, you may have already developed plaque in your arteries leading to your heart. The only way to know is to have a scan. You should consider taking fish oil supplements. The American Heart Association recommends fish oil or people who have had heart attacks and as a part of a program to prevent heart attacks. I am posting a link to personal heart attack stories. These may help you to know how your risk stacks up better than textbook classic examples.
