Blood Drug Testing

Need chemistry help!?

1. A blood sugar test measures the amount of the sugar (C6H12O6) in your blood. Around 100. mg/100. mL of blood is considered normal. If the average 150 lb person has about 5.5L of blood in his body, how many moles of glucose should be present in his body? 2. I have to make 500.mL of a 4.54 M aqueous solution of CaCl2. How many grams of CaCl2 will I need? And, what concentrations of Cl- ions should I expect to have in my solution? (My answer must include a chemical equation to show the dissolving of CaCl2 in water. 3. After making this solution from above, I realize that I really need 450. mL of a 3.65 M CaCl2 solution. How much of my 4.54 M stock solution will I need? How much water will I need? Please help, this is the last homework assignment of the year!!

  1. 1. 100 ml contains glucose -------> 100 mg 0.1 L ------------------> 0.1 gm glucose 1 L ------------------> 0.1/0.1 =1 gm glucose 5.5 L ------------> 1*5.5 = 5.5 gm glucose moles = 5.5 / 180 = 0.03055 moles
