Breathalyzers/blood-tests/BAC; How long does it take for alcohol to dissipate in the body?
Regarding breathalyzers and blood tests for alcohol (BAC); how long does it take for alcohol to dissipate in the body? Can a person show a 0.00 on a blood test, but still have had a drink earlier that night? Thank you for your responses, thoughts, ideas and advice. Any helpful links to information would also be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much! Please see my other question regarding this breathalyzer issue and my sons prom night.

- It takes about 30 minutes for the body to start processing alcohol. It all comes up to how much is consumed because the body can not process alcohol as fast as people tend to drink. If somebody were to have a beer, one beer, about 2-3 hours till there are no signs.
- I know that its depends on body weight and how many drinks you had. The smaller you are, it'll take less drinks to get you drunk.
- were learned that you should have 1 drink every hour but depending on the individuals metabolism it can take any where from a few hours to 48 hours for your system to be complete clear(this is in the normal range-not including those with kidney/liver issues etc.) http://www2.potsdam.edu/hansondj/DrivingIssues/1127227453.html http://www.ohsinc.com/how_long_do_drugs_stay_in_your_system.htm http://www.alcohol-test-info.com/How_Long_Will_Alcohol_Stay_In_the_System_For_Urine_Tests.html
- that depends on what kind of drink, how much alcohol, and how much earlier.
- For a 180 lbs. person: 1 drink per hour. 12 oz. beer, 10 oz. malt liquor, 6 oz. wine, 1.25 oz. 80 proof booze or 1 oz. hard liquor (90-100 proof). Cold showers, hot coffee and other folk remedies do not make it go any faster.
- blood alcohol content is measured by diffrent factors but mainly weight . others are metabolism how much you drink how often you drink etc
- just a tip: let ur son hav a fun prom night. u drank in high school and hes gonna do it anyways. but back to ur question, it takes about 1 hr for one beer to get out of the system
- As many drinks as you've had multiplied by 1 hour. You drink 3 drinks (and it doesn't matter how quickly you drink them) it's gonna be 3 hours. Now, when I say drink I mean 1 oz of spirits, 12 oz of beer or 6 oz of wine. So if you need to pound 'em and run, be prepared for the po-po to pop you. And don't cry about it when you get popped. You'd deserve it.
- The dissipation rate varies depending on your body weight and metabolism a good rule of thumb is the body will process approximately .02 BAC per hour. So it is possible to have three drinks and show a 0.0 BAC three hours later. This is not a particularly good area for experimentation. If you are going to drink, do not drive or operate machinery and visa versa. In this case it is much better to be safe than sorry.
- I would say to be safe a bare minimum of 1 hour per drink. After a night of drinking it is best to sleep it off, or just not do it.
