Blood Drug Testing

How many blood tests and/or urine tests occur in the US and/or the world each year? For what purposes?

Looking for statistics on the number of blood and urine tests that are completed on an annual basis in the united states and around the globe. Interested as well in what these tests are for, and what they cost. If anyone has a good source for data on this, I would be most appreciative. Thanks!

1. I'm a Medical Technology student and on a day to day bases the small lab that i worked in for a month could run up to like 200-300 test in 1 day. that's just a small lab we also sent out about 5 test to larger labs. the blood test could be for any reason from measuring the amount of antigens in the blood too testing the amount of hormones in circulation. the urine test that are preformed are to measure the amount of protein or blood in the urine or to see how many cell are being slashed off or even to see if there is any bacteria
