Blood Drug Testing

Can a doctor tell that you have a ulcer from just blood tests alone?

I was in the hospital yesterday throwing up and having severe pain in my stomic. The doctor did only blood tests and told me that he thinks its a ulcer and sent me home with anti acids and anti nausea prescriptions. So is he right? Is this a ulcer?

  1. Usually not. To confirm a diagnosis, the doctor usually has to go down there with a scope and take a look around. Perhaps when your stomach settles down, they will conduct more tests. Were you throwing up blood? Did they check your stool to see if there was blood in your feces? Internal bleeding can be many things, not just an ulcer. Most of them bad. Make sure to check back with your doc and follow through on all recommended tests. Good luck.
