  1. Just one blood test is needed unless there is something that the doctor feels warrants another.
  2. Before I was pregnant I was warned about how often my bood would be taken. Well, at 20 weeks the only time I've ever had to give blood was at my very first visit when I was 5 weeks along. I declined to have the downs screening, which would have called for blood, altough I think most just do a finger prick for that. And I'm yet to have a glucose screening, where they will take blood. So far though, just the one time. Shouldn't have to have it more than 2, which includes my glucose screening, unless something is going on according to my doctor.
  3. I had one to rule out any STD's as well determining my blood group (Routine Test). I had one to check for Down's and Edward's Syndrome (my choice - private test taken early which I paid for). I had one to check glucose levels in case of gestational diabetes. I had one to check liver as I had symptoms of a disorder that could cause miscarriage. I think I had four because of my age then (39) but only one was routine.
  4. I didn't have any! In fact I never had a needle through pregnancy, labour and birth, that's just occured to me. Interesting.
  5. I only had one blood test as well. The less needles they stick in me the better
