Blood Drug Testing

Question about a thyroid blood test?

I had a blood test for my thyroid because my mother and brother had a thyroid problem and I had the same symptoms. The nurse has said that my thyroid level was 2.64 and that was fine. What is the normal range?

  1. TSH" Test -- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone / Serum thyrotropin 0.4 to 6 0.3 to 3.0
  2. At Quest the range is 0.3 to 5.5, though AACE recommended the range at 0.3 to 3.0. Depending on the time of day ypu took the test, it could have no meaning. This is because TSH is highest while we sleep, so you want to test first thing in the morning. It is lowest at 2PM. My first TSH was 2.6 and I was told I didn't have a thyroid problem. 9 months later, the retest was 6.8 and I got diagnosed. If you are having hypothyroid symptoms, the most likely your thyroid is slowing down. Many doctors are now saying a TSH over 2.0 can be causing problems within the body
