will taking birth control pills affect thyroid tests?

will taking birth control pills affect thyroid tests? b/c i had two blood tests 1 week apart and my t4 level was elevated both times. do i really have hyperthyroidism or could it b just the bc? i do have a lot of symptoms of hyperthyroidism tho.

1. THEY ARE TWO VERY DIFFERENT HORMONES AND EASILY TESTED AS SEPARATE AND UNIQUE. NO, BC DOES NOT AFFECT THE THYROID TEST.
2. I had thyroid tests done this year while I was on the pill. My TSH level was slightly elevated, but not horrible. My endocrinologist asked me to go off of the bcp for 2 months and repeat the test. At that time my TSH was much higher. So, yes. It seems they have an effect on the results.
