When you go to the doctor and get your blood drawn does the blood test include the colon?
I know this may seem like a werid question but I'm wondering and curious. When you go for a check up and get your blood drawn to check the numbers of organs and such.. does it include the colon? Or do you have to get a colonoscopy done to see if it's healthy or not? Thanks for bearing with me with this crazy question! LOL

- They have to do colonostomy .When they draw blood on you, the test has already been specified. Unless the Doctor orders it, it is not tested.
- It depends on what the doctor orders for labs as to what he's checking for. They can check cholesterol or for anemia or other disease processes. If you think you are having a colon problem, they will most likely order a colonoscopy or an EGD that checks the stomach, esophagus, etc (opposite end). Are you having problems or have a family history of colon problems? If so, you might let the doctor know with your next visit so he can do the proper tests and labs to pinpoint the problem. Prepare to visit the doctor with your list of questions, because usually the docs try to rush people through and they have trouble thinking of everything under that pressure.
- I don’t know what "the numbers of organs" is, but I do know it does not appear on a blood test. The only way to tell if your colon is healthy is with a colonoscopy.
