  1. It depends on the hospital and if they had a reason to test for those things are not..
  2. No not unless they told you they were testing you for STD's etc.
  3. Probably not, unless you either asked for an STD test or they have some reason to believe and STD to be the cause of the problem.
  4. There are different tests for different things. You should have asked or by now you should have the results. Most are done for specific things, in case of "abdominal pain" they were looking for certain antibodies in the blood. In case of HIV they look for "T" cell count.
  5. Blood tests done for abdominal pain would usually be done to find out the primary and most probably cause of the pain. Usually that would mean taking 1. A full blood count, which shows your blood indices. (haemoglobin, red cells, white cells, platelets). This gives a brief introduction as to the presence of any infection. 2. An electrolyte count may be taken to see if any electrolyte imbalance within the body may have cause your bout of pain. Electrolyte imbalance may cause spasm of your muscles and organs. 3. Sometimes a glucose count may be taken especially if one is a known diabetic to see if its going into a diabetic emergency (one of the signs is abdominal pain) 4. Rarely would a test for serum amylase be taken to see if you have pancreatitis, which usually presents with excruciating pain.... 5. Urine test is to see if one has a urinary tract infection (probably one of the most common causes of abdominal pain after food poisoning) So unless the patient has told the doctor that he/she has any risks of being infected by STDs, blood tests for HIV or other STDs are not a routine thing. And if it were to be taken, a written or verbal consent must be taken from the patient to ensure confidentiality of results. Hope this answers your question
  6. Probably not, They were probably done to see if you had an elevated white blood cell count, which can indicate infection, or appendicitis, Other tests can determine if you are anemic, if you have a chemical imbalance, if your liver and kidneys are functioning properly, and those kinds of things. They will not usually order any kind of HIV/AIDS testing unless it is indicated by the history of the patient and correlation of symptoms, or the patient requests the testing be done. You almost always have to have some sort of counseling and sign a form, before they can do any HIV testing. ER's are there to treat acute problems like, injuries, abdominal pain, heart attacks, and urgent problems that can not wait for a Dr. appointment.
  7. They could have done just about any test on you from your liver to your urine you would have to call your doctor or get a copy of your results too many tests to guess
  8. only if you ask for it!
