How long will it take to have the blood results test from the doctor?
I am currently pregnant, about 6 weeks and after a few scares they finally confirm my pregnancy and my hcg levels are more than doubling, on the ultrasound they were able to see the gestational sac and the Yolk sac, everything seems to go fine, I have a cold, ear and eye infection at this present time, so...but other than that everything is being fine THANKS GOD, what I am a little worry about is the result of all the blood test and the pap smear they did, (the routine ones, that I am not sure what are they for, but they do it all the time) so all I want to know is how long until they have the results back and if they will call me with the results or should I call or how that works here?? Thanks for all your help and to care enough to answer in a good way!!

- it usually takes two weeks to get the results back and they will call you with the results
- Usually one to two days, but it depends on which tests you got. We could tell people the answer within an hour when i was in Iraq
- Depends on how busy the lab and your Dr is. Ive had test results as early as a few hours, and yet some a few days even a week.
- usually three to five days they only call you if something was abnormal
- same day if they do it early enough in the day. If you haven't heard from them in 48 hours...call and ask.
- It varies but anywhere from 1 day to a week. It took my doctor 5 days. 12 weeks and 1 day pregnant
- When I thought was pregnant with my daughter I was a nervous wreck. I went for a blood test at 8:am and they called me within the hour... If you don't hear from them by the end of the day call them in the morning and just ask how long it wil be before the results are in...
- OK when i was pregnant i usually get results in 5 business days that what my doctor said to me, but he never called or anybody else, if it's everything OK they won't call you, doctor will tell you on your next visit that you're OK or they might send you letter in the mail that is everything OK...Don't panic, but if it's gonna make you feel better than call, no harm would do...and CONGRADUATION on your baby!
- At your first prenatal visit they do a pap to check for syphilis and gonorrhea. It's standard. They also do various tests with your blood. The doctor usually has the results back within a week. They will call you if there is a problem. You can always follow up with a phone call to your doctor if you are nervous.
