How accurate are the pregnancy blood tests?
So far I'm not pregnant, so the tests say. Neg. urine and BETA hcg blood test 18 DPO. Also, still neg. hpt as of yesterday (24 DPO). I've gone back for another blood test today (I was denied a ultrasound). I'm still being told by my DR. I'm not pregnant. Symptoms: darkening or the areola/nipple, cramps, headaches (but I think this one is stress related). Period arrived on expected day (on the pill). However, first day was heavy bleeding, followed by 4 days of light bleeding/spotting (bright red). This is not the norm. for me. Waiting on 2nd blood test....

- I don't know about those, but the self testing urine kits are 99% accurate anyway.
- Im not a Dr, but I have always been told the blood test are 100% accurate.
- Blood tests are usually pretty accurate.
- The pregnancy tests that you buy off the shelf are about 98.9 percent accurate .. in the Doctors Office it is suppose to be almost 100% accurate. Good Luck ! :)
- Blood tests are 100% accurate....you are not pg, your period was like that because you are on the pill, and that happens sometimes with that bc method.
- 99.9% don't worry your not pregnant
- Blood tests are pretty accurate. Sometimes the pill can do strange things to the body. I had to switch a couple of times because of side effects from them.
- From personal experience and having an aunt as a nurse they are very accurate.
- 99.99% If its not showing up in your blood stream which can take up to 14 days, then you are not pregnant.
- I am in a similar situation...I am on the pill and haven't had my period since July 26. I have missed pills, but all the tests, including one blood, came back negative. Although I hear that blood tests are pretty accurate I have also read that some women have experienced a wrong blood test, so it does happen. However, I don't know how common it is. Did you miss any pills? You know your body better than anyone else, so keep digging until you get some answers as to why this is happening. Good luck and I hope everything turns out the way you want it to.
- the one for the stores are about 95% best see your Doc. there are 100% sound like you are Stressing may make your monthly off wacky.
- The blood tests are the most ACCURATE way to detect pregnancy there is! Its extremely reliable and can tell u if u r pregnant 48 hrs after conception!!!!! So if it says negative and your urine says negative- Im sorry but as of yet u r not expecting! Alot of times on the pill u have strange periods or u could have an ovarian cysts. When I had one of those I had alot of weird periods. Have your dr check about that.
- Blood tests for pregnancy are startlingly accurate.
- The two blood test that a physician utilizes for accuracy of pregnancy are beta qualitative and a beta quantitative. A beta qualitative determines if you are positive or negative for pregnancy. A beta quantitative is utilized to determine approximately how many weeks you are. The beta quant test is utilized when a woman has a positive pregnancy and has bleeding or spotting and the physician would like to see how many weeks they are initially and then the test is repeated again to determine if the pregnancy is sustained and the numbers have doubled in a 24 hour period(determining factor for sustaining the pregnancy).
