Blood Drug Testing

When is the soonest you can take a blood test for an accurate pregnancy test?

I took a blood test today and today happens to be day 9 after ovulation. Whatever my result is (I'll know in a couple hours) will it be accurate?

  1. I know you only have to wait 1 week after missing your period before taking an pregnant test. but i would ask your doctor.
  2. The blood test is the BEST way to know. Good luck!
  3. yes, the blood tests at the doctors detect a lot earlier than urine tests.
  4. Yes, it should be accurate. Blood and urine tests performed by a laboratory are from 97-100% accurate in detecting pregnancy. Blood tests for the hormone hCG and are the most sensitive and can detect a pregnancy earlier than urine tests (which can be done a day after a missed period). After implantation, the level of detectable hCG rises very rapidly, approximately doubling in quantity every two days until a peak is reached between the sixth and eighth week. These tests for hCG can also distinguish normal pregnancies from impending miscarriages or pregnancies that occur outside of the uterus (ectopic pregnancies), just so you know. If you don't start your period soon, and if you start experiencing early signs of pregnancy, redo the test. Good luck to you!
  5. You'll get a true result this early. I was told 6 days past ovulation. The HCG level will be elevated if you are pregnant.
  6. Yes, the tests are very sensitive now and you only have to wait a few days past ovulation for a blood test to be accurate. Good luck.
  7. A blood test will show if you are pregnant or not 7 days following conception and is 100% accurate because blood does not lie.
