How accurate is a blood pregnancy test???

My husband and I have been having unprotected sex for about 5 months, we have a 9 month old baby as of now. We're not partcularly trying to get pregnant, but if I do, we would be happy. Anyway, my last period was just spotting, after being 4 days late, I'm usually right on schedule. I went to my doctor last Thursday, he ran a blood test, it came back negative, now I'm 4 days later than I was last month, and for the last couple of days, I've been really sick, like when I was prego with my first and no sign of my period. Which brings me back to the question, how accurate are the blood tests???

3. Blood test are proven to be 100% accurate as early as one week after conception. A blood pregnancy test can also help determine the length of the pregnancy by measuring hcg in the blood. Most doctors still ask for a urine test also just to make sure. If you are still concerned about your irregular period then maybe you should see your obgyn to determine if you are experiencing other problems such as overian cysts instead. Good luck
4. blood test are the most accurate. your body may be experienceing some sort of stress causing you to be late. if you are getting sick that is also a good indicator of some form of stress.. good luck! and feel better
